Description

This book is the sequel to Random Passage.

It starts with a present day Lavinia Andrews, who grew up disconnected to her Newfoundland roots and family, she goes back to her birthplace to work, during her studies she finds the journal of the original Lavinia Andrews and begins to uncover the past and better understand her own present.

The journal contains the original Random Passage entries and those added by Mary Bundle later.

What draws you to this book is to find out how the story ends for the 19th Century Lavinia and Thomas, it does get you there but it takes it’s time. A good literary device to keep you reading but it also makes you impatient with the rest of the book, you feel impatient with Mary Bundle and distracted by the present-day Lavinia.

It’s worth reading for the continuing story from the first novel but it’s a sideways journey not a linear one.
