January

Gable end of the Sight Centre, 31 Scott Street, Keighley collapses due to storm damage.  Fortunately no injury to persons or damage to property. Services from the centre suspended whilst repairs carried out.

April

Sight centre re-opens after storm damage

Work commences on converting the cassette versions od the audio book library to CD.

June

The digitising equipment purchased through the Centenary "Go Digital" appeal is launched to the public.

September

The Edith White Achievement Award introduced in memory of Edith who had been a director and trustee for 24 years up until passing away in July 2007.

October

Peter Robinson of Sutton-in-Craven becomes the first winner of the Edith White Achievement award.

Our living with sight loss courses gives people the opportunity to meet and chat with other people living with sight loss in a relaxed, informal environment. Our volunteer speakers, who are people living with sight loss, tell their stories and answer questions.

To mark our 110th Anniversary a new tactile map was unveiled at a special event held on Tuesday 9 May 2017.
