If you are thinking of buying a new mobile phone, tablet or eReader, then our new mobile phone, tablet and eReader demonstration service can help with Apple iPad, Apple iPhone, Amazon Kindle Fire, Amazon Kindle Paperwhite, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10" Tablet, Google Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy lll Mini, Synapptic Tablet and Phone, Doro PhoneEasy 612 - Big Button and Easy To See, Amplicom Talking Mobile Flip Phone - Talking Mobile Phone, Amplicom Easy To See Phone - Big Buttons and Easy To See. Funded by a grant from the Santander Foundation in September 2013 we have a selection of accessible and mainstream mobile phones and tablets available to demonstrate.

Demonstration equipment in not available for loan and unfortunately there is no Outreach Service

  • All demonstrations take place on a one-to-one basis on a Tuesday or Thursday
  • We can demonstrate a range of tablet and mobile phones
  • We do not supply products ourselves but can give you information on where to make a purchase
  • You can receive 1.5 hours per week for up to ten weeks. This includes a 5-10 minute break per hour as outlined by the Health and Saftey Executive when using your tablet or smartphone.

Our living with sight loss courses gives people the opportunity to meet and chat with other people living with sight loss in a relaxed, informal environment. Our volunteer speakers, who are people living with sight loss, tell their stories and answer questions.

To mark our 110th Anniversary a new tactile map was unveiled at a special event held on Tuesday 9 May 2017.
